Predestined

I have Jesus, God's SON, shining in my heart. I have been forgiven of my sin guilt!! I am filled with love as I walk with Jesus daily. My LORD and my God lives in me!! Oh, how I love Jesus because he first loved me!!

Matthew 11: 28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

The Great Commission

2 Corinthians 5:14-18 For Christ’s love compels us because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live to no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on, we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!

Matthew 28: 16-20 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Psalm 44:8 In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise your name forever.

Trials and Temptations

James 1:2-8 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

You can consider trials and temptations as pure joy as the Lord carries you through these temptations. This is a great faith builder.

Acts 2:36-41 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.” Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Future Glory

Romans 8:22-30 We know the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Warning Against Idolatry

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”

My Personal Testimony

After a home overnight visit, my wife Irene and I returned to her nursing home by City Bus. We needed the bus to take her and her wheelchair. We left our car at the apartment’s parking lot, about a mile and a half from the nursing home. In the evening when I was ready to go home, I missed our appointment for the City Bus. While seeking a ride to our apartment, I realized I was without transportation. While walking past a window confronting the parking lot, I noticed my car was parked there! The Lord has provided my need. What a faith builder! I just stood there numb for what the Lord had done for me. The Lord will give us the desires of our heart if we are walking in His way and love Him. Oh, how I love Jesus because He first loved me!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

My Personal Testimony

When I heard at a Bible study that Jesus loved me so much he would have died on the cross, paying my sin debt, if I were the only one to believe and trust him for forgiveness, I had tears running down my face and I begged Jesus to fill my heart with His love. I desperately need love and acceptance. Jesus immediately answered my prayer and I was immediately filled with love, peace and joy! I became a new creation with a spirit of truth living in me. We, the Spirit of Truth and I, walk with Jesus daily. What a joyful trip this is!

The Father Revealed in the Son

Matthew 11:25-30 At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do. All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Exodus 20:6 But showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

1 John 5:3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.

Matthew 22:37-38 “’Love the Lord your God with all your heat and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”

When I turned my life over to Jesus for His love and forgiveness, not one second has gone by that I have not believed that my name is written in The Lamb’s book of life with the blood of my Lord, Jesus Christ. We have found that by following the Spirit of Truth that lives in me I have gained many fruits of the Spirit—love, peace, joy, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:15)

The gift of salvation is free. All you have to do is receive it and make Jesus Lord of your life!

Awaiting the New Body

2 Corinthians 5: 6-10 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Faith in the Son of God

1 John 5: 1-5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
